The Shivanand Trust conducts this festival every year in a far off pristine valley surrounded by mountains and farms. That is Aundh a calming place near Satara .Strewn over this place are a series temples dedicated to the "Yamai" and several other 'shakti' godesses of the Maharashtrian cult.
The festival kicked off in the morning at around 9 am , went on till 6 am the next day. Every hour a classical hindustani musician evokes rasa through his gayaki with his gharana. Since a few years they are also featuring classical dancers, and this was my good fortune to have been part of this large gamut of musicians.
I had chosen some interesting mix of compositions which consisted of a Diskhitar krithi , my own hindi kautvam , Dr Balamurli's tillana and a ninda stuti abhang. The audience appreciated the krithi on narasimha and went bersek over Ninda stuti Abhang .
The following festival dedicated to Pt.Gajanan Bua Joshi is a place where music is in the air melody is the season !
